Strida LT Folding Bike, Black Reviews
50 of 50 people found the following review helpful Lots of fun, January 4, 2011 By Specific Gravity (So Cal) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Strida LT Folding Bike (Sports) I bought two of these LTs, one red and one silver. The bikes were easy to put together (attach the seat and rack) and everything you need comes in the box. You will probably need to inflate the tires, both of the bikes we received had very little tire pressure. The red color was more of a scarlet red. There is a reflective strip on the front frame tube, on the silver bike its not as noticeable, however it does stick out on the red frame... just something to consider when picking a colored frame.
I am 6' tall, with an inseam of about 33" and with the seat adjusted to where I am sorta tip toeing when stopped, seat as far back on the rails as can go, I find just enough room for my knees when riding. If I try and exaggerate my pedaling I can get my knees to touch my thumbs. I recently bought the extended handle bars, just havent put them on yet. Not sure if I want to go through the hassle (if it ain't broke, dont fix it kinda thing).
Steering is sensitive and... Read more
28 of 28 people found the following review helpful Original, high-tech, light weight and 5-second to fold/unfold for public transport, June 30, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Strida LT Folding Bike (Sports) This is one of the best folding bikes on the market. It's original, high-tech, pretty and easy to carry on/off the bus or subway metro. After it folds, it looks like a unicycle. It's very small to put into any trunk. It takes only 3 steps to fold or unfold the bike. You can do it in 5 seconds but you better watch the video from YouTube first . The user manual has only instructions in pictures without a single word. It's hard to understand for the first timer.
The riding is OK. Since the front wheel is light and handle bar is short, it's not as easy as regular bike to ride. You tend to over-control the directions. Over all, it is an excellent folding bike. You better get a good steel lock to lock it.
Be ware of the counterfeit version from other sellers and those are junks.
19 of 19 people found the following review helpful perfect range extender to keep with you in the trunk, June 7, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Strida LT Folding Bike (Sports) Ever have problems finding a parking space near your destination? Ever need to drop the car off at the auto shop several miles from work? This bike is the perfect range extender, perfectly filling the gap between walking and driving.
Some comments: The gearing is low for easy low-speed maneuvering. I found myself wanting a higher gear for longer distances on flat terrain. This is not a day-to-day commuter for that reason, unless you need to carry your bike on public transit or similar.
The steering is really quick and takes some getting used to. The handling feels quite squirrelly until you get used to it, and even then riding in a perfectly straight line is much more difficult than on a normal bike. The brakes work really well.
I'm 6'1", and the bike doesn't feel too cramped. Feels strange, but it's do-able.
The neon green color is awesome -- I get lots of comments and complements. If you're going to have a strange-looking bike, you might... Read more
